Emporia Energy Monitors

The first thing we do is install and set-up an Emporia Energy monitoring system. With this we can perform an electrical analysis to determine where and why energy waste is happening. Once we find this waste, we will create a plan to control it. Many times, it’s as simple as things running when they don’t need to be, or poor maintenance to HVAC systems i.e. filters and belts.

Installation and set-up cost

Starting at $700 for an Emporia electrical monitor and set-up. This includes about a 3 to 4 hour install, set-up and building analysis. After that we charge $80/hr. plus parts to install and set-up control systems (Wi-Fi thermostats, plugs, sensors etc.)

Continuous Support

We offer a very affordable remote monitoring of your energy consumption for $50/month. This comes with on-site analysis to determine problems with high or unnecessary energy use at no cost.

Training

Most of the smart devices can be DIY by a building maintenance person or manager. We can assist with install, training or devising a Smart Building strategy.

Wi-Fi thermostats

With an electrical real-time/trending remote monitoring system, you will be able to see exactly what you are saving by adjusting your buildings temperature. Most of our customers are shocked to find out how much their HVAC system was on when it didn’t even need to be running. Controlling this not only immensely reduces your utility bill, but also saves the life of your HVAC system.

Identifying malfunctioning appliances

A malfunctioning HVAC system can run for 24 hours a day trying to maintain a specific temperature. By the time you notice and call someone the system maybe approaching a catastrophic failure (compressor, or heat exchanger). You can receive alert notifications if your HVAC is malfunctioning. This is done by monitoring the run time and temperature differential of the HVAC system’s supply and return air. A longer run-time than normal and a smaller Delta-T(temperature differential) are indications of a malfunctioning unit. The fix could be as simple as replacing filters, tightening belts, or a bad $10 capacitor on the blower.

Smart Devices

Most of these products are DIY. Even the Emporia Energy monitoring system can be DIY if you have some pretty good electrical skills. We typically don’t install these systems in homes for that reason.
